South Simcoe Special Olympics

Special Olympics Ontario is a volunteer driven organization with some 23,000 athletes and 9,000 volunteers registered across the province. Athletes range in age from 2 - 80 and have the opportunity to train in 18 core sports.

The South Simcoe District Community of Special Olympics Ontario offers sports activities for children, youth, and adults with intellectual disabilities. It has a good number of registered athletes and numerous volunteers. Every facet of our community is dedicated to enriching the lives of people with intellectual disabilities.


The sports offered vary by season, but include:

  • Basketball

  • Bocce

  • Bowling

  • Golf

  • Soccer, and

  • Softball

Service Area

South Simcoe District Community of Special Olympics has a very broad service area which includes:

  • The Township of Adjala-Tosorontio

  • The Township of Essa

  • The Town of New Tecumseth

  • and Cookstown (Town of Innisfill).

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! While we are not back to business as usual yet, we have been planning for a return to more normal activities, (though we do not have any specific dates yet).
